Cop wounded in sword attack

DENVER, Colo. (KUSA) - Police in Denver, Colorado are investigating a bizarre incident that left one person dead and a campus police officer seriously injured.

It began when an Auraria Campus officer responded to reports of a man on campus with a sword.

Police say the suspect was killed after attacking the officer, nearly severing his finger.

The officer involved was transported to a local hospital in critical, but stable condition.

A Veterans Day race in the area went on as planned later in the day.
