Search for suspect after East Longmeadow bank robbery

EAST LONGMEADOW, Mass. (WWLP) - East Longmeadow police are on the lookout for the man who robbed a North Main Street bank late Friday morning.

East Longmeadow Police Sgt. Patrick Manley told 22News that the suspect entered the Peoples Bank at 201 North Main Street around 11:00 A.M. and handed the teller a threatening note demanding cash. The teller complied with the thief's request and he got away northbound on North Main Street.

A police dog was brought in by the Springfield police to try to track the suspect, but he has not been located yet.

The suspect is described as an African-American man standing about 5'8" tall with a slight build. He was dressed all in black, and was wearing black sunglasses.

No weapon was shown during the robbery, and no one was hurt.
