Man killed in Granville fire

GRANVILLE, Mass. (WWLP) - One man is dead after a fire in Granville. Firefighters were called to Hansen’s Auto Repair on Silver Street just before 9:00 a.m. on Friday.

State police told 22News that a homeless couple had been staying in a van on the property of Hanson's Garage. They were using a portable propane heater to stay warm and that may have ignited bedding.

The woman was able to escape the fire. Official identification of the victim will be made by the Medical Examiners Office.
