CHICOPEE, Mass. (WWLP) - A 24 year-old man has been arrested for allegedly setting fire to a home in Chicopee’s Fairview neighborhood on Thursday.

Jennifer Mieth, spokesperson for the State Fire Marshal’s office, told 22News that Joel Labonte has been arrested and charged with setting fire to the home at 119 Lukasik Street.

The ranch-style single-family home sustained extensive damage in the fire. The residents of the home were not there at the time, but have had to find somewhere else to stay.

Meith said that Labonte was known to stay at the address, but it was not his home.
