NORTHAMPTON, Mass. (AP) - A Hampshire Superior Court jury is scheduled to resume deliberating the case of a woman charged with killing her wife in their Granby home.
The jurors in the murder trial of Cara Rintala are expected to continue weighing the case Monday after completing their first full day of deliberations Friday without reaching a verdict.
Rintala is charged with strangling and beating Annamarie Cochrane Rintala , who was found dead in the basement of their home in 2010.
The women, both paramedics, had been married for two years and were raising a child.
The prosecutor in closings said the defendant "flipped" and killed her wife after months of stress over finances.
The defense said that evidence in the case was weak and prosecutors overlooked other possible suspects.
