HOLYOKE, Mass. (WWLP) - Holyoke police have arrested a homeless man who allegedly broke into two cars in a downtown parking garage.
Heriberto Mora, 32, is facing a variety of charges following his arrest late Saturday morning.
Police Lt. Matthew Moriarty told 22News that before 11:00 A.M., police received a call from a witness who claimed to have seen a man breaking into two cars at the Dwight Street parking garage. The witness gave a clothing description of the suspect, which led police to Mora, who they found on nearby Front Street.
Moriarty says that Mora did not listen to the police officers’ instructions and ran away. The officers chased and caught up with him, but Mora allegedly tried to fight them off before he was finally put under arrest.
Mora faces multiple charges, including breaking and entering of a motor vehicle, disorderly conduct, resisting arrest, and larceny over $250. He was also arrested on four existing warrants.
