CHICOPEE, Mass. (WWLP) - Chicopee police say that a man who they caught robbing the Granby Road 7-Eleven store is also behind three other robberies in the city this week.
Police Lt. Mark Higgins told 22News that around 5:30 A.M. police were called to the 7-Eleven, where Robert Pelletier, 25, of Holyoke, was robbing the store while armed with a metal bar. Police surrounded the store, and Pelletier climbed onto the store’s roof.
Higgins says that the fire department helped officers get Pelletier down.
Detectives investigating the case linked Pelletier to three other robberies this week, including one on Monday at the same 7-Eleven store. The other two robberies happened at the Memorial Drive FL Roberts store on Monday and at the Center Street Subway restaurant Tuesday night.
Pelletier is charged with four counts of armed robbery while masked, as well as resisting arrest, assault and battery with a dangerous weapon, and destruction of property over $250.
