WEST SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (WWLP) - West Springfield police say that the man who robbed the Main Street Cumberland Farms store may have also tried to rob a Dunkin’ Donuts just minutes earlier.
West Springfield Police Captain Daniel Spaulding told 22News that the suspect entered the store around 3:30 Friday afternoon, armed with a large knife. He took cash from the store’s register and ran away.
Spaulding says that five minutes earlier, a man fitting the same description had tried to rob the Dunkin’ Donuts at the North End Bridge Rotary on Park Street. (Incidentally, there is also a Cumberland Farms store at the Rotary, though it is not the store in question.)
Police do not have any description of a getaway car, though they believe a vehicle was used due to the short length of time between incidents, and the distance between the donut shop and the convenience store.
The thief is described as a Hispanic man about 5’8” tall, wearing a green sweatshirt, a baseball cap, and blue jeans.
If you have any information, you are asked to call West Springfield Police at (413) 263-3210.
