Five dead in Georgia plane crash

THOMSON, Georgia (WAGT) - Five people are dead after a plane crash at Georgia's Thomson-McDuffie County Airport.

Two survivors were transported via helicopter to the hospital.

"Shortly after 8 o'clock tonight the 911 Center received a call advising that there was a loud burst out by the airport. Approximately a minute or two later we learned that a plane crashed. Upon arrival we found the plane is totally destroyed. Debris is all over the place," said McDuffie County Sheriff Marshall.

Federal investigators are on the scene.
