(NBCNC) - The holiday travel week is now officially underway.

AAA says more than 43-million Americans will take a trip over Thanksgiving.

"90% of those traveling will do so by automobile," notes AAA president Robert Darbelnet.

To make sure you have a fun and safe trip experts say make sure you plan ahead and prepare for crowds both here at the airport or on the road.
