Hundreds lined Main Street for The Annual Parade of Big Balloons.

The Cat in the Hat, standing at 75 feet, was a crowd pleaser, along with an American Eagle, Madeleine, the Nutcracker and Darth Stewie from "Family Guy."

A variety of local bands and organizations added excitement and color to the day.

People who braved the cold and wet weather say the parade is good for getting into the holiday spirit.

"It's fun; it's a lot of fun. It's fun seeing all the kids out here, seeing the families having fun. It's good."

Major General Joseph Carter, adjutant general of the National Guard, was this year's parade marshal.
