WEST SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (WWLP) - The gun control debate continues to intensify. Gun shows are starting to feel some of the heat, with several being canceled.
The 22News I-Team discovered what's in store for a long running Western Massachusetts gun show.
The show must go on says Big E CEO Gene Cassidy. The "Big E" has no plans to cancel a scheduled gun show next month or any others in the future.
After the Newtown school shooting, several gun shows in Connecticut were canceled. Northeast Gun Shows hosts the gun show in West Springfield, but had one canceled in Waterbury. Eastern States Exposition CEO Gene Cassidy told the 22News I-Team the show will go on as normal.
"The Commonwealth as far as regulations for gun shows are probably the most difficult to meet in United States know as you know we are in the business of renting this property to promoters they are world-class operator", says Cassidy.
The Eastern States Exposition has a firearms show scheduled in March, June and October.
