A good day for car wash businesses

SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (WWLP) - As the sun came out Monday for the first time in almost a week, business immediately picked up at Springfield area car washes.

Business was booming at the Golden Nozzle car wash in West Springfield.

Drivers told 22News, they wouldn't go near a car wash last week, but Monday it was different.

Winston Tunis, I came in Monday to wash my car because you know it's a nice day and the sun is everything isn't it? Ya, what was it like last week here? A lot of cleaning and a lot of praying that it would stop raining and snowing.

His prayers were answered Monday.

Lots of sunshine translated into a lot of drivers determined to rid their cars of winter grime.
