SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (WWLP) - While many people were spending Black Friday at the Mall.
The Dakin Pioneer Valley Animal Adoption Centers in Springfield and Leverett are celebrating Black Friday in a whole new way.
They are showcasing their many black and mostly black cats that are awaiting adoption.
According to Dakin officials black cats have a harder time finding someone willing to adopt them than their lighter colored counterparts.
Candy Lash says, “While they're lovely adaptable and happy cats they want nothing more than to go home sometimes they happen to be overlooked.”
Anyone adopting a one year or older black cat Friday at the shelter was also eligible for a chance to win a gift certificate for the Holyoke Mall.
