LUDLOW, Mass. (WWLP) - A local adult learning center is celebrating the receipt of a holiday gift.
The Verizon Foundation granted 20-thousand dollars to Holyoke
Community College's Ludlow Area Adult Learning Center.
The center serves nearly 100 adult immigrant students a year
needing to learn English.
According to Kermit Dunkelberg, program coordinator at the
Ludlow center, the money will support programs that not only
increase language proficiency, but help teach essential technology
skills that increase employment opportunities. "There are all
kinds of ways in which we're enabling students to access services
as well as use the technology for instructional purposes," said
Dunkelberg.
