CET awarded for waste reduction

FLORENCE, Mass. (WWLP) - The Center for Ecological Technology has offices in Northampton, Springfield, and Pittsfield.

The local non-profit organization helps businesses and homeowners reduce waste and save energy.

Lorenzo Macaluso, Waste Management Specialist at CET, was presented the Waste Wise "Endorser of the Year" by the Massachusetts Department of Environmental Protection last week.

On Monday, Macaluso explained the significant of the award, "We've worked with hundreds of businesses to reduce waste, increase recycling, start composting, and just look at their business top to bottom and figure out ways to help."
