SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (WWLP) - A group of local cub scouts is doing their part to help the needy this holiday season.
Springfield Pack 303 has been hosting a food drive over the last few months.
The scouts gathered tonight at St. Catherine of Siena Parish in Springfield to help fill a truck that will deliver the food to the Open Pantry.
Jeff Romito is the pack's Cub Master. He told 22News the holiday season is the perfect time to teach the scouts about community service.
"Well every year at Thanksgiving time we try to do something to give back to the community its just a perfect time to have the kids get out there and get involved in the community and give back."
