HOLYOKE, Mass. (WWLP) - The holiday rush is on.
22News visited an area mall Monday to see if shoppers are finding real savings and it turns out they are!
According to the National Retail Federation more people are hitting the malls and the web.
195 million people shopped over the crucial Thanksgiving weekend, that's up from 172 million last year.
We spoke with one Holyoke Mall shopper that told 22News she normally finishes in November but waiting was well worth it.
Laurie Cebula of Ware said, "This time of year they have cut the prices and they are much lower than they were in November. So I am glad I waited."
Many merchants hoping to get financially strapped holiday shoppers to buy may have to discount more than they had planned.
So there could be more discounts to come this holiday season.
