BOSTON (AP) - Gov. Deval Patrick is ramping up his campaign schedule.
Patrick and Lt. Gov. Tim Murray are opening a campaign office in Worcester on Saturday before meeting with supporters and organizers in Chelmsford, Andover and Danvers.
The campaign wants to prepare supporters for the Worcester Democratic caucuses later in the month.
Patrick is battling sagging poll numbers and a stubborn economy as he begins his campaign for a second term.
He's also facing a crowded field, including Republicans Charles Baker and Christy Mihos, independent state Treasurer Tim Cahill and Green-Rainbow Party candidate Jill Stein.
Human service activist Grace Ross, a Democrat, is also challenging Patrick.
