HOLYOKE, Mass. (WWLP) - The principal at Maurice Donahue Elementary School in Holyoke sent a letter home to parents this week letting them know about the alleged inappropriate relationship one of the teachers was having with a student at the school.

First year teacher Lisa Lavoie allegedly ran off with her 15 year-old student. They were both reported missing and were located together in a West Virginia hotel room days later.
The boy was returned to the Holyoke area on Wednesday.
Lavoie has been charged with kidnapping in the state of West
Virginia and with child endangerment in Massachusetts.
She waived a rendition hearing and will be returned to
Massachusetts. Authorities there will have 7 to 10 days to pick her
up.
