HOLYOKE, Mass. (WWLP) - Monday was an emotion filled day at the Holyoke Boys and Girls Club.
The club received a nearly 20 thousand dollar check from the widow of Thomas Brosnan.
Money raised during the Thomas Brosnan memorial road race this year.
An avid runner, The Captain of Correction officers at the Hampden County house of correction was struck and killed while jogging five years ago along Memorial Drive in Chicopee.
Mrs. Brosnan told 22News she was deeply moved by Monday’s event.
“I think when the Sheriff spoke about his dedication how he cared for everyone, he cared for the inmates as well as his fellow workers, that’s Tom.”
Mrs. Brosnan told 22News, the Holyoke Boys and Girls Club meant
so much to her husband.
