HOLYOKE, Mass. (WWLP) - Western Massachusetts was hit with some heavy rain, the remnants of what was once Hurricane Ida.
In Holyoke, the rain, which began Friday night, caused some street flooding.
It's not cold enough for snow, but Western Massachusetts could get dumped on with more than an inch of rain by the end of Saturday.
However, this weather is not nearly as bad as what hit the New Jersey shore. People there are assessing the damage after being pummeled for several days by Ida's remnants.
Many homes and streets throughout the area are filled with knee-deep water and sand dunes in several towns were destroyed.
Even though the worst of what is now a nor'easter is hitting the coast, the rain could make local travel a bit difficult at times and drivers should make sure to watch out for street flooding.
If you can, you're encouraged to clear leaves from storm drains in front of your home to help prevent streets from flooding.
