SPRINGFIELD, Mass (WWLP) - The Saint Francis Chapel in Springfield is accepting travel size toiletries every other Wednesday and Thursday this month at Tower Square.
Father Jim Brennan of St. Francis Chapel says support for the cause is in the true spirit of Christmas. "It seems a natural flow, when you think of it. Jesus started out as homeless. He was born in another man's stable. So, it's kind of in response to him and to the people who have that situation now," said Brennan.
Donations can also be dropped off at St. Francis Chapel at 254 Bridge Street, Springfield, Monday through Friday, 9:30am-3pm.
The products will be distributed through Mercy Medical Center's Health Care for the Homeless program.
