Many residents use the first weekend after Thanksgiving as the time to pick out their Christmas Tree.
Families got to Paul Bunyon's Tree Farm and Nursery in Chicopee early on Saturday to stake their claim.
They checked out the prices and the trees of their choice.
Debbie Gilmore of South Hadley told 22News, buying a tree is an annual tradition.
"It's an annual event. We do it every year after thanksgiving, the weekend after thanksgiving."
Edward Czeremcha of West Springfield said, "We're late, they wanted to get it yesterday, but today is a good day for it's a nice day, no rain."\
Another tree shopper told 22News, the earlier you get the tree home, the more time you have to decorate.
