SANDISFIELD, Mass. (WWLP) - Massachusetts State Police say that snow and ice on the road caused a single-car accident in the Southern Berkshire County town of Sandisfield that injured five people, including two teenagers.
According to a news release from Massachusetts State Police Media Relations, just after Noon Monday, an Isuzu Rodeo driven by Jazmine E. Solero, 33, of New York went off Route 8 and up an embankment before crashing into a utility pole. The SUV then flipped over, trapping Solero inside. After being freed by emergency workers, she was taken to Charlotte Hungerford Hospital in Torrington, Connecticut. Her injuries are said to be serious.
Four other people in the car; Jazmine Nesbitt, 28, Tiffany Nesbitt, 24, both of New York, and two teens, aged 13 and 15, were taken to Berkshire Medical Center with potentially serious injuries, according to State Police.
Solero was not speeding at the time of the crash, police say.
