PITTSFIELD, Mass. (AP) - A major witness in a case against an alleged leader of the Berkshire County Hell's Angel's gang is missing along with two friends.
The question is did they get lost in Tropical Storm Irene or was foul play involved.
They've been missing since Irene hit Berkshire County, but District Attorney David Capeless says there's a possibility their disappearance had nothing to do with the storm.
Capeless told 22News, “There are concerns that foul play is involved.”
That's because one of the men, 44-year-old David Glasser is expected to testify in a robbery, assault and kidnapping case against a member of the Hells Angels.
Adam Lee Hall is a reputed sergeant at arms of the Berkshire County chapter of the Hells Angels and had a long history with Glasser.
Glasser and his roommates, Edward Frampton and Robert Chadwell were all last seen at their apartment on Linden Street.
At the time Hall was out on bail.
Capeless explained, "He had been out but he was arrested over the weekend on unrelated charges.”
Law enforcement agencies from across the area have been searching the woods in the Pittsfield state forest but they won't confirm if they found any leads."
"All I can say is that based on information that we had we conducted a search over two days in the forest and that's as much as I'm willing to share at this point," said Capeless.
Court documents show that authorities believe Hall tried to keep Glasser from testifying before, allegedly trying to frame him asking a friend to say he robbed her.
But, Hall's lawyer told the associate press his client had nothing to do with the mens' disappearance.
The newest charges against Hall were extortion and child pornography.
He is scheduled to go to trial for the robbery and kidnapping charges October 3rd.
