GREAT BARRINGTON, Mass. (WWLP) - Four Great Barrington families are homeless tonight after a fire destroyed their apartment complex, Chief Charles Burger told 22news.
The fire was at 208 Meadow Lane in the Housatonic section of the town and started around 6:30 this morning.
According to 22News' Berkshire County correspondent, Tom Jay, a firefighter was injured while trying to put out the fire. He suffered a second degree burn to the neck when they opened the roof and the flames hit him.
Jay also said there were fire crews from a number of surrounding communities assisting. The Berkshire county division of the pioneer valley Red Cross provided the displaced families with money for food and clothing.
