Homophobic slur found on dorm room door at Williams College

WILLIAMSTOWN, Mass. (AP) - Campus and local authorities are investigating after a homophobic slur was found etched into the door of a Williams College dorm room .

The homophobic slur was reported five months after a racist death threat was found written in a different dormitory.

According to a letter sent to students Sunday, the latest slur was found that morning by a student who lives in the room.

The letter signed by President Adam Falk and other college officials says the slur may have been there awhile.

The North Adams Transcript reports that the letter said the message is "contrary to everything that we at Williams stand for."

Police Chief Kyle Johnson says there are no suspects.

The prestigious college canceled classes and athletic practices Nov. 14 when the racist threat was found.
