Job stress ups heart-attacks in women

BELCHERTOWN, Mass. (WWLP) - Working women are equal to men in a way they wish they weren't. A major federally funded study found that female workers with stressful jobs were more likely than women with less stressful jobs to suffer a heart attack or a stroke or to have clogged arteries.

Worrying about losing a job can raise heart risks too.

One woman from Belchertown told 22News just because you have a high stressed job, doesn't mean you're always stressed. "I think that it depends on your stress level in general. How you deal with anxiety on a regular basis. I work at a hospital so you get that stress everyday," said Sarah Lkseniek of Belchertown.

If you have a stressful job and do feel stressed, experts recommend taking time to exercise, meditate, or do things you enjoy. All those activities can help you lead a more healthy lifestyle.
