PITTSFIELD, Mass. (AP) - A Pittsfield man listed as a sex offender for previous convictions has been sentenced to up to 25 years in prison for kidnapping, chaining, threatening to kill, and repeatedly raping a coworker.
A judge called 36-year-old Michael J. Hill "extreme, reprehensible" and "sadistic" at sentencing Thursday in Berkshire Superior Court
Prosecutors say the victim went to Hill's home in early 2010 for a party, but ended up shackled and raped at gunpoint. The then 19-year-old woman was repeatedly raped over the next 20 days. While allowed to go to work, the woman said she did what Hill told her because he threatened to kill her and her mother.
The Berkshire Eagle reports Hill's attorney said the woman was in a relationship with her client and the sex was consensual.
