Man arrested after fight involving knife at Szot Park in Chicopee

Suspect facing assault charges

CHICOPEE, Mass. (WWLP) - Chicopee police arrested a suspect at Szot Park around 6: 30 p.m. Wednesday night after a fight involving a knife.

Lt. Patrick Major told 22News the suspect is facing charges of assault with a dangerous weapon.

There were no serious injuries, but one person was visibly bloodied.

There were about two dozen people in that section of the park during the fight, which happened on the Armory Drive end of Szot Park, near Abby Memorial Drive.

Police did recover the knife.
