PITTSFIELD, Mass. (WWLP) - Police in Pittsfield are looking for witnesses to come forward to help them figure out who killed a 23 year-old man Sunday night.
According to a news release sent to 22News by the Berkshire District Attorney’s Office, police received calls around 11:30 P.M. about a man being shot on Wellington Avenue. Officers arrived to find found Nikolas S. Carnute, 23, of Pittsfield, lying in the middle of the street. He was taken to Berkshire Medical Center, but died shortly afterward.
An autopsy will be performed on Tuesday.
At this time, Pittsfield police have a vague description of a car seen leaving the area after the shooting. They are looking for a white sedan with a rear spoiler. The car is possibly a Pontiac. Anyone with any information is urged to call Pittsfield police at (413) 448-9700.
