GREENFIELD, Mass. (WWLP) - A local former middle school teacher heads back to court Wednesday.
His trial for allegedly raping a student is set to begin in just a couple months.
His name is Brendan Kenny. He's 45 years old and used to be a computer teacher at Greenfield Middle School in the mid-2000's.
It was during that time when Kenny allegedly repeatedly raped one of his female students while she was in the 6th and 7th grades.
She was between the ages of 13 and 16.
Kenny pled not guilty to the charges back in March of last year and was held on $5,000 bail.
Since then, he's been ordered by the court to have no contact with the alleged victim or anyone under the age of 16.
In addition to the child rape charges, he was also charged with furnishing alcohol to a minor.
He'll appear in Franklin County Superior Court Wednesday for a pre-trial hearing.
His actually trial is slated to start in July.
