ORANGE, Mass. (WWLP) - Earlier in the week, 22News aired the story of Frankie Girard, an 11 year-old from Orange who says he was not allowed to hang up a picture of the American Flag at school.

Our story reached a local Air National Guard unit serving in Iraq. Members of the unit told 22News that they have hung a flag in honor of Girard.

Girard’s father told 22News on Wednesday that his son's teacher said his picture of the American Flag would offend one of his classmates, so he could not hang it up.

The local unit contacted 22News Friday morning and said that they will send Frankie the flag when they are done.
