Bomb squad called-in after antique grenade found in Greenfield home

GREENFIELD, Mass. (WWLP) - The Massachusetts State Police Bomb Squad has disposed of an old World War II hand grenade discovered in a Greenfield home. 

Greenfield Police Sgt. David Rice told 22News that family members discovered the grenade around 1:00 P.M. while cleaning out a house on Cedar Street.

According to Sgt. Rice, the State Police Bomb Squad deals with several hundred incidents like this one each year.
