SHELBURNE FALLS, Mass. (AP) - When St Joseph Parish in Shelburne Falls asks celebrities for a donation for its annual summer tag sale, the church usually gets a few autographed photos.

This year, martial arts expert and movie star Chuck Norris gave so much more.

The Chuck Norris Kickstart Foundation donated a small home fitness system worth as much as $800 for the Roman Catholic parish's fundraiser next month.

Parish secretary Jim Kimberley called the Total Gym XLS endorsed by Norris a "tremendous gift" and one of the most expensive donations received in the history of the event.

Kimberley tells The Recorder of Greenfield he wrote 45 letters to celebrities, foundations and businesses asking for donations this year.

Money raised by the fundraiser is used for parish repairs or for outreach programs.
