GREENFIELD, Mass. (WWLP) - A study among Franklin County teenagers shows that frequently having dinners with their parents has a positive influence.

Grenefield's Communities that Care Coalition found that 65% percent of the 2,000 teenagers they surveyed frequently have dinner with their parents.

Greenfield Community College students told 22News that they benefited from the experience.

“I got help from my Mom and she helped me through anything I had questions about,” GCC student Katelyn Wood said.

“I've gotten a lot of guidance over the time I've sat down with my parents over dinner, and they'd talk me through any problems that I have,” said Blaze Robinson of GCC.

According to the Coalition survey, teens that frequently eat with the parents are far less prone to drink, smoke, and use drugs.
