GREENFIELD, Mass. (WWLP) - The fall foliage passed its peak in Franklin County this weekend. This is the busiest time of year for many businesses. The fall foliage season lived up to expectations.

The Poetry Ridge Bed and Breakfast has been open in Greenfield for seven years. They have been busy this fall with all six rooms occupied all season.

"We've had more guests and the geographic spread seems to be better than last year 46 in the last six weeks we've had guests from several foreign countries and 24 states," said Owner Errol Sorensen of Poetry Ridge Bed and Breakfast.

Tourists spent nearly $17 billion in Massachusetts last year.

Every week, hundreds of people come to the Visitor's Center here in Franklin County to find out about the fall foliage.

Mary Jane Rasku says every morning we're here by 9 am we get to see the sun hitting those oranges and yellows, it's been beautiful. "It's wonderful to live in this part of the world to see those kinds of things and it makes me thankful that I'm here," said Rasku.
