Greenfield parking lots free in December

GREENFIELD, Mass - Holiday shoppers today filled Greenfield's municipal downtown parking lots.

Shoppers can park in the lots free of charge right through the end of the month.

Shoppers took advantage of the free parking to do their shopping at stores in downtown Greenfield.

“I think it makes people, it certainly makes people want to shop downtown. It gives them a sense of accommodation which is good,” said Amy McMahon.

Tom Vito said, “It's great, nice to have free parking on a Saturday.”

The only lukewarm response came from some shoppers who want the on-street parking also free of charge during the holiday season.
