GREENFIELD, Ma (WWLP) - Greenfield is lacking firm plans to replace a demolished skate park.
Skaters and parents alike say there needs to be more places for teens to hang out.
Whats left of the park is seen here, mostly torn up.
The landlord who was leasing the land to the town did not renew the lease.
Sandra Shields with the Department of Public Works says that while there is a desire to build a new park, the town hasn't found a place and doesn't have the funds.
Skaters say they're disappointed.
Zach Pyfrom of Greenfield told 22News "I’m kind of angry that they tore everything down, because a lot of people used to hang out there."
Shields did say if a new park would be built, they'd do it right.
It would be constructed of mostly of concrete, not wood which causes a lot of problems.
