MA Nurses Association authorize a strike

M.N.A. need to give 10-day notice prior to strike

GREENFIELD, Mass. (WWLP) - After failing to reach contract agreements with Baystate Franklin Medical Center , the Massachusetts Nurses Association has voted to authorize a strike.

Baystate Health Spokeswoman Jane Albert told 22News the vote authorizes the union representatives to call a strike, should they decide to do so.

This does not mean that a strike will actually happen.

The M.N.A. would need to give a 10-day notice to the hospital prior to going out on strike.

Albert says the issues at hand are primarily financial in nature, from wage increases to overtime pay and health insurance costs.
