CHARLEMONT, Mass. (WWLP) - It's not just the maple syrup season that's continuing, the weather has held out for those skiers too.

People were hitting the slopes at Berkshire East in Charlemont Thursday. The sun was shining and the snow was just right for spring skiing.

The Roy Schaefer of Berkshire East told 22News it's been a much better year than last. "It's night and day difference. The snow this year has been very timely, comes before vacations and has stayed all winter."

"This is fantastic skiing,” according to Jack Ciesla of South Deerfield. “The grooming is fantastic, the snow is fantastic, and it’s a very good year; couldn’t ask for a better year."

The owner of Berkshire East says he anticipates skiing to continue until at least Easter weekend.
