GREENFIELD, Mass. (WWLP) - Severe weather in Franklin County over the weekend caused some damage in parts of Greenfield and nearby towns.
There were reports of trees down across Franklin County, including in Leyden, Northfield, and Greenfield.
Sunday on Silver Street in Greenfield, a massive tree fell across a home’s front yard and into the driveway, where a car was damaged.
Ryan Montpelier, who sent a photo of what happened to 22News via the Report It feature, said that his car will be covered by insurance.
Resident George Farinella told 22News that he is just happy it didn't hit the house. “Pretty much (Sunday was) a good day, all of a sudden we seen the wind, the rain started downpouring,” he said. “I came outside, the whole tree was down.”
Residents told 22News that the landlord called a tree removal company to get rid of the tree. The Department of Public Works came to remove the rest of the debris.
