Greenfield, Mass (WWLP) - Teenager Olivia Rowe of Greenfield had raised one thousand dollars for Cancer research in the name of her grandmother, Linda Rowe of South Deerfield. Linda Rowe vividly remembers what it felt like to learn she had Cancer.

“It's very frightening when she first hear the word cancer. And your mind explodes when can I get surgery, how quickly can I get it done? “ Said Linda Rowe

“Last December I had a Mammogram and they found something suspicious, they wanted to watch. So I went back six moths later and the calcification had gotten together in a way they weren't supposed to. ” Said Ellen Kelcon

More than six hundred cancer survivors their friends and loved ones took part in the fund raising walk through Greenfield.

This was the third year of the Franklin county event hosted by Baystate Franklin Medical Center.

The first Rays of Hope walk here in Western Massachusetts dates back to 1994.
