VIDEO: Democratic Debate, 2nd Franklin District

(WWLP) - The recently-redrawn 2nd Franklin District includes several communities in eastern Franklin and northwestern Worcester County, with a single precinct in Belchertown in Hampshire County.

First-term State Representative Denise Andrews (D-Orange) is hoping to represent these towns on Beacon Hill, but she is being challenged for her party’s nomination by Genevive Frasier of Orange, Jim White of Phillipston, and Rebecca Bialecki of Orange.

The four candidates appeared for a debate on 22News on Tuesday, August 28, to discuss issues that affect this geographically large district, including alternative energy, rural poverty, taxes, and user fees.
