SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (WWLP) - Several agencies that count on state funds weren't too pleased to hear Governor Patrick's speech regarding the budget.
One of them is "Friends of the Homeless" in Springfield. The shelter's Executive Director, Bill Miller, told 22News, they get 13-dollars from the state for each person that stays there.
Other shelters in the state get as much as seventy dollars. "We were looking to the Governor to increase our funding and not have it be level funded. Springfield is under funded compared to the rest of the state," said Miller.
Miller plans on expressing his concerns to the Patrick Administration.
He says the shelter needs more money considering more people are homeless due to these tough economic times.
