WESTFIELD, Mass. (WWLP) - People who live near Barnes Air National Guard Base in Westfield have probably noticed some increased activity the past two nights.

Maj. Matthew Mutti told 22News the 104th Fighter Wing has been conducting night training missions.

The night missions launch around dusk with the last expected landing around 10pm.

Maj. Mutti says the unit concentrates its evening training missions during the winter months because of the longer hours of darkness.

The nighttime training exercises will wrap up Thursday night.
