HOLYOKE, Mass. (WWLP) - Twelve full-time and part time employees at Holyoke Health Center were let go this week.
Executive Director of the Health Center Jay Brienes said in a statement to 22News that the decision came after contracts and grants either ended or were reduced in funding.
"The Health Center does not have the resources to maintain positions that are not covered by contracts, grants or third party reimbursements," Breines said.
The company has about 300 employees at six different locations.
According to the release, many of the employees who were let go were alerted last year there could be reductions.
The employees worked in the health center's medical records department. The center is currently transitioning to electronic medical records.
