SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (WWLP) - A 14 year old girl is recovering in a Springfield area hospital Sunday night after being hit by a car on Roosevelt Ave.

Springfield Police Lieutenant Alberto Ayala told 22News just before 9 Sunday night, the girl was reportedly walking down the middle of the four lane road near Alton Street when she was hit.

The driver did stop and no charges were filed.

The girl was taken by ambulance with minor injuries.
