SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (WWLP) - It's estimated that some 50 million Americans suffer from arthritis, thousands living right here in Western Massachusetts.

Hundreds came out Sunday for the 2012 Arthritis Walk at Springfield's Central High School.

They came to raise money to fight disease that affects the muscular skeletal system, especially the joints. Jeanne Rosinski-Kenyon suffers from a particularly painful type of arthritis.

“The symptoms are pain, pain and more pain, so you're in constant pain, basically every joint in my body. So I explained to a woman if you've ever had natural childbirth, it's like being in natural childbirth every day,” said Jeanne Rosinski-Kenyon.

The money raised from the walk helps support arthritis research, along with programs to help people who live every day with arthritis.
